Introduction to Oracle PaaS Cloud and its Architecture

About Oracle PaaS

Platform as a Service (PaaS) is a set of services to build, deploy, migrate, and manage a variety of application workloads in a secure environment.

Few examples of Oracle PaaS services are
  •      Oracle Database Cloud Service
  •      Oracle Java Cloud Service
  •      Oracle Java Cloud Service-SaaS Extension
  •      Oracle Mobile Cloud & Chatbot Service
  •      Oracle SOA Cloud Service
  •    Oracle Integration Cloud
  •    Oracle Visual Builder Cloud Service

The following architectural diagram illustrates how a custom application, developed in Oracle Fusion Applications Cloud Service and deployed in Oracle Java Cloud Service can be accessed via single sign-on (SSO) provided by Oracle Identity Cloud Service, which establishes user authentication and authorization. With a trust relationship established, the custom application can access the REST web services that are exposed by Oracle Fusion Applications Cloud Service, so the application can display, manipulate, and write data as needed. User and role synchronization between Oracle Fusion Applications Cloud Service and Oracle Identity Cloud Service restricts access to or visibility of the application based on roles.
